Palapa Ring is an Indonesian telecommunications infrastructure project that consists of the installation of 36,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable. Consists of 7 small fiber optic circumferences in 57 regencies or cities in Indonesia, located in 3T (Terdepan/frontier, Terpencil/outermost and Tertinggal/least developed) areas. The region includes Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, Nusa Tenggara, Papua, Sulawesi, and Maluku.
Management of Palapa Ring implementation and operations to 3 Implementing Business Entities (BUP) in a 15-year contract:
• The West Package: Palapa Ring Barat (PRB)
• The Middle Package: Len Telekomunikasi Indonesia (LTI)
• The East Package: Palapa Timur Telematics (PTT)
